Last day of pre-cleanse

So today is our last day of "pre-cleanse". After doing our research, we learned that "going out with a bang" is not the way to start a cleanse. Yesterday we were entirely vegetarian (it would have been vegan, had I not made a honey-mustard sauce to go with our steamed potatoes) and the potatoes were our only cooked meal.

But at about 8 pm last night, I faltered. And I had a Bounty bar. It was so good. SO good. I felt a little guilty about it, just a little. But it's okay I figured. It's only the pre-cleanse and a chocolate bar won't kill me.

Today we are entirely vegetarian and raw. I'm running out for some errands so I'll stop at the organic juice bar up the street and I'll grab us a couple bottles of various squeezed juices to get us through the evening. It'll be our "champagne" for midnight! :o)

We're not doing anything at all for NYE. Just hanging out at home, curled up on the couch, watching a movie. That's about it!

I'm currently sipping on my last coffee for the next 2 weeks. I made a nice double espresso, added some maple syrup for sweetness and topped it with fresh boiling water for a nice Americano. I can't believe how good it tastes without milk or cream!

I still have to pick up some senna tea as our "laxative" tea. I don't think we're supposed to take capsules of Cascara Sagrada while we're on the actual cleanse.

It looks like we're going to do our first salt water flush tonight. I'm excited and really nervous. Do I sip it or do I gulp it? It seems if you gulp it, it may make you vomit. Maybe I'll fast-sip-it through a straw? IDK. I haven't decided, but I'll surely write about it! :o)

T minus 2 days

Okay... so the big day is here in 2 days. No, I'm not talking about New Year's Eve. I'm talking about the day I start my Master Cleanse. I'm doing it with my bf Luke. We both have been wanting to do a cleanse for a while now, but since I was nursing our son up until the first week of December we hadn't really had the opportunity. Until Now!

We had a big salad for dinner last night. We had Casgara Sagrada caps earlier in the evening. It's a natural, non-habit forming laxative. I guess it's supposed to "help everything along".

Today we went vegetarian and mostly raw. I've had a banana, some tangerines, a boiled leek with broth, and salad with home made dressing. The only cooked food we had was a baked potato for lunch (which we topped with sea salt and home made spicy honey mustard sauce). It was awesome! Who knew a baked potato would taste so good without bacon and sour cream?

I've already had some cravings - for carbs. Cookies or crackers! Probably cuz that's what my son was munching on earlier!

Have downed 6 cups of water already. I feel good. Except for this cold I'm still fighting!
